Chevrolet will introduce the Trax compact crossover at the but Chevrolet says it’s not coming to the U.S.
“The Trax will give Chevrolet an entry in the growing small SUV segment, ” Chevrolet Europe boss Susan Docherty said, “with the versatility, low fuel consumption and car-like handling that urban explorers require.”
The Trax is bound to share componentry and industrial underpinnings of the Opel Mokka – putting it somewhere between the Nissan Juke and Qashqai in footprint – and is due in showrooms in spring 2013. That would point to similar engines; the Mokka uses a 1.4 and 1.6 petrol, with the choice of a 1.7 turbo diesel.
Details including price, weight, length and fuel economy of the Trax were not released. However, we expect prices to start from around £13,500.
