The wraps are off the Silverline Chevrolet team’s 2011 cars, set to campaign in the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship.
Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship has confirmed a record entry list ahead of its 2011 season with the highest number of different makes.
The cars will be prepared by the Wellingborough-based RML team, which also looks after Chevrolet’s WTCC Cruze.
Unveiling the cars at the BTCC Media Launch at Silverstone, Northants, RML Group’s Sponsorship Director, Rupert Mainwaring, said: “It’s great to see the Silverline Chevrolet team getting such great support – it shows the broad appeal of the country’s most exciting motorsport series, and gives us a great boost as we head into what promises to be the BTCC’s most competitive season ever.”
Plato will be joined by Alex MacDowall, a young driver who might look like he’s moving up to big school but turns out to be 20. MacDowall goes into his second season having shown flashes of promise during his debut year.
The BTCC cars for 2011 will be similar to the 2010 WTCC championship-winning Cruzes campaigned by Yvan Muller, Alain Menu and British racer Rob HuffA. New livery, based on that of the WTCC cars, will be unveiled on March 24.
