The North American based automotive giant, General Motors, has recently announced the official specifications for the V6 engines in the new Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra.
With fuel prices going up almost every day, full-size truck buyers are more concerned with how much fuel their rides will burn than before and in order to make sure that it will have buyers interested in the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and 2014 GMC Sierra, General Motors has recently announced some specifications on their V6 engines, which are promising to deliver the same capabilities as a V8, but without the extra fuel consumption.
According to the car manufacturer, the V6 engine in question is a new 4.3 liter EcoTec3, and it’s producing a total output of 285 HP (212 kW) and 305 lb-ft of torque (413 Nm). The average fuel consumption in rear-wheel drive stands at 18 / 24 mpg in city / highway and at 17 / 22 mpg in city / highway with all-wheel drive. The payload rating stands at 2,108 lbs (956 kg) and the towing is 7,200 lbs (3,266). Prices for the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado start at 24,585 USD and the 2014 GMC Sierra at 25,085 USD.
