The North American based automaker Chevrolet has recently announced the official performance specifications for the 2014 Corvette Stingray Z51.
After it was officially unveiled just a few months ago and then launched in several markets across the North American continent and Europe, General Motors has finally decided to announce the performance specifications of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Z51. As you already known, the Corvette Z51 is powered by the 6.2 liter V8 engine, which is producing a total output of 455 HP (339 kW) and it has a peak torque of 460 lb-ft (624 Nm).
The 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) sprint is done in just 3.8 seconds and the quarter mile is over in 12 seconds. Braking from 60 mph to 0 takes 32.6 meters (107 feet). The Z51 Performance Package is adding features like the limited-slip differential, dry-sump oiling system, aerodynamic styling tweaks, upgraded cooling system and much more. The car tested by General Motors was also equipped with Magnetic Ride Control and at the Virginia International Raceway managed to lap the 4.2 mile long Grand Course 7 seconds faster than the Camaro 1LE, at 2:51.78. Pricing of the Z51 Performance Package has been set at 2,800 USD on top of the 51,995 USD price of the regular Corvette.
