Chevy Camaro breaks the 600 hp barrier thanks to Callaway image

The US muscle car trio has two definite top contenders (sorry Challenger Hellcat fans) – namely the equally iconic Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro.

And with the latter both having all-new generations the prize has always been the sales numbers – but in order to achieves those record numbers you need support from all around, including the aftermarket scene. As far as these models are concerned, the first step on the aftermarket scene will always have to do with the pony count – and it appears well known tuner Callaway Cars has the 2016 Camaro owners covered in the department via their SC600 model – claimed to be the most powerful street legal 2016 Camaro currently available.

“The 2016 Camaro is a superb car that’s light, nimble and fun to drive,” said Reeves Callaway, founder and CEO of Callaway Cars. “We designed the Callaway Camaro SC600 to deliver an even more driver-focused experience for those seeking even more power. Using the TripleCooled technology we developed for the Corvette Z06, we created the most powerful Callaway Camaro available today.”

We’re talking here about a 600-plus horsepower Camaro that can be ordered directly through the tuner’s dealer network in North America, with production tipped for the first quarter of the year and pricing starting from $54,290, including the “base” Camaro SS. The Callaway Camaro SC600 uses the patented Callaway GenThree supercharger package, cooling system and styling, with the limited edition taking cues from the Callaway SC757 Corvette Z06. The model comes as a coupe or convertible and can be had with manual or auto gearboxes.
