General Motors has recently announced a series of updates for the Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Sierra, GMC Yukon Denali and GMC Yukon XL Denali.
The 2015 Chevrolet Silverado, the GMC Sierra, the GMC Yukon Denali and the GMC Yukon XL Denali have been recently updated for the new model year, as the North American based automaker has recently announced. According to General Motors, the vehicles mentioned above will be coming with the new 8-speed automatic transmission, along with several other features.
“The GM-developed Hydra-Matic 8L90 eight-speed is approximately the same size and weight as the Hydra-Matic 6L80 six-speed automatic. Its 7.0 overall gear ratio spread is wider than GM’s six-speed automatic transmissions, providing a numerically higher first gear ratio to help drivers start off more confidently with a heavy load or when trailering”, as the company is saying in its official press release.
As far as the engine goes, this will come, on the new 8-speed automatic transmission, as the 6.2 liter EcoTec3 V8, which is producing a total output of 420 HP (313 kW) and 623 Nm (460 lb-ft) of torque. More details and specifications on the four models mentioned above, along with their price list, for the 2015 model year, will be announced later on.
