The refreshed 2016 Kia Rio 4-door sedan has been officially presented to the public recently at the 2015 Chicago Auto Show.
After pulling the wraps off the brand new Trail’ster Concept, Kia has also introduced the 2016 Rio Sedan during the same automotive event, even if its presentation may have gone by unseen. The model in question is basically a facelift and this has received some discrete visual upgrades which include the new front grille, the new fog light surrounds, two new exterior colors, the Digital Yellow and the Urban Blue and several other tweaks to help it stand out.
The 2016 Kia Rio Sedan has also received an updated interior design, but don’t expect any major modifications because the model is bringing the satin finished bezels around the air vents, the UVO e-Services technology, a new piano black center console and an overall more premium look which should make it more popular with its future buyers.
The EX Designer Package is also being offered on the vehicle as this is adding the gray padded door panels inserts, the gray leatherette trim with gray stitching on the center console armrest, on the steering wheel and on the shifter boot. The 2016 Kia Rio Sedan is coming with a 1.6 liter four-cylinder engine, the same one as before, which is offering 138 HP (102 kW) and 187 Nm (123 lb-ft) of torque, sent to the front wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. The 5-door variant is getting a 6-speed automatic as standard.
