Kia has officially pulled the wraps off the new Trail’ster Concept during the 2015 Chicago Auto Show.

Following several teasers, Kia has introduced the new Trail’ster Concept during the 2015 Chicago Auto Show. The model in question is offering a preview of a production Soul AWD variant and it can easily stand out thanks to its Polar Pearl Snowdrift exterior paint, to the Terra Bronze Metallic finish for the roof, to the body cladding, aluminum skid plates, waterproof canvas roll-top roof which is retractable, to the 19-inch alloy wheels with red accents wrapped in Pirelli Winter Carving snow tires, to the LED technology used on the taillights, to the large fog lights and several other tweaks.

The interior design of the one-off vehicle is getting brown leather for the seats, aluminum inlays for the floor mats, a red ignition button, a thickset gear shifter, controls for the all-wheel drive system and so on. Under its hood, we can find the 1.6 liter turbocharged gasoline burner which is rated at 188 HP (138 kW) and 251 Nm (185 lb-ft) of torque. The unit is connected to a 6-speed automatic transmission and it is backed up by a rear mounted electric motor with 30 HP and 100 lb-ft of torque, which is taking its juice from a 1.2 kWh lithium ion polymer battery. The internal combustion unit is sending power to the front wheels and the electric motor is powering the rear axle. A production version is expected soon.
