Nissan has introduced the new Frontier Diesel Runner Concept during the 2014 Chicago Auto Show, in a premiere.
The new Nissan Frontier Diesel Runner Concept is the company’s newest creation and even if it can’t be called that new, this is still a so-called concept vehicle. The model in question is based on the Frontier Desert Runner 4×2 and it has received a roof rack, a mesh grille, an aerodynamic tonneau cover and some other tweaks, which are contributing to its aggressive exterior design. The model is also getting a carbon fiber engine cover, a transparent hood and 16-inch alloy wheels, wrapped in off-road tires.
The cabin of the Nissan Frontier Diesel Runner Concept has been equipped with in instrument pod which is providing diesel specific information, with leather seats, grey accent stitching and carbon fiber trim. Power is being provided by a 2.8 liter Cummings turbo diesel four-cylinder engine, which is producing approximately 200 HP (149 kW) and 474 Nm (350 lb-ft) of torque. The unit is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. No details on whether this will be put into production have been announced yet.
