The Chinese police department has recently received a new vehicle, a Skoda Rapid, which will be used to fight crime in the Asian country.
Unlike the Dubai police department, which has supercars like the Bugatti Veyron, the Aston Martin One-77, the Lamborghini Aventador, the Ferrari FF and a lot more, the Chinese police department is on a budget, just like every law enforcement out there, so the new vehicle to arrive in its lineup is a very normal one, a Skoda Rapid. This may not sound like an improvement but the fact is that the Rapid is way more practical in this job than any of the supercars mentioned above.
The local automotive media is saying that the Skoda Rapid in question has been transformed into a police vehicle for the equivalent of 2,500 euros, a figure needed to install the specific communication system, the flashing lights and the siren. As a quick reminder, the Chinese version of the Skoda Rapid is different than the European one. The model is powered by either a 1.4 liter engine, with 90 HP, or by a 1.6 liter unit producing 110 HP. Owners can choose between a five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission.
