The Chinese market addiction for Sino-oriented models is well known by all auto companies. Lately, China requested the BMW 3 Series with an extended-wheelbase ‘335Li’.
Other companies have already bent to the Chinese customer’s weakness for long-wheelbase versions of luxury and prestige cars. Audi already designed the A6L and A4L, which are the top two in the premium sales segment. BMW introduced its 535Li, but it seems that the customers now long for the 3 Series stretched version.
A long-wheelbase 2012 BMW 3-Series is already undergoing tests in Germany, and it will probably get to China in April at the 2012 Beijing Auto Show. The longer 3 Series will be assembled in China at the company’s joint venture Chinese automaker and it will feature a lot more space, so necessary for the driver’s comfort.
No information was released about the price for this premium sedan, but it is expected to be comparable to the rival Audi, whose long-wheelbase Audi A4L has been on sale in China since 2009. Estimations are made around 290,000rmb to 400,000rmb.
This car is perfect for those who want to be chauffeur driven and not self driven.
