The production version of the Skoda MissionL in China, which will be known as the Rapid, will hit the local market in early 2013.
After being officially presented to the public during its world debut last year at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show and with its Asian appearance at the 2012 Beijing Motor Show, the Skoda MissionL Concept is once again being placed into the spotlights. According to the guys at chinacartimes.com, the final production version of the Skoda MissionL, which will be known as the Rapid, will hit the market in China in early 2013. The Skoda Rapid which will be made in China is part of the company’s strategy of launching a new car every six months.
The Skoda Rapid is already being assembled in India since October 2011 and this version is 4,39 meters long, 1,70 meters wide and 1,40 meters tall. The Indian Skoda Rapid is coming with a choice of two engines, both of them with the 1.6 liter displacement, with one of them being a petrol burner and the other one a diesel. The output delivered by the two units is around 103 HP. The Skoda Rapid is filling the gap between the Fabia and the Octavia and the model will be similar in size to the Volkswagen Golf. More details on the Chinese Skoda Rapid will be announced later on this year.
