Chinese super-luxurious sedan fetches $800,000 image

Just like any respectable rapper would say – whaaaat? This crazy businessman paid $803,000 for his Hongqi L5 luxury sedan – when he could have bought a Bentley Flying Spur, a Ferrari 458, and a South Beach Condo with that kind of money.

Have you ever heard of Hongqi, Chinese for Red Flag? Well, some of us did but, I’m sure that 90% of the world didn’t. Well, because now you won’t be able to sleep at night without some info – the Hongqi is the pride an honor flagship of China’s FAW Group. Man, don’t start me with – who is FAW… just do a Google search, jees!

Back to the Hongqi L5, the sedan is the car f choice for many leaders of the Chinese Communist Party – and since envy had nothing to do with the acquisition(!), Wang Zhonghua, the buyer of the $800,000 L5 is waiting for his sedan to arrive in the next three months.

While we’re sure that its car is individually custom made, general details on the L5 sedan – which has just began selling as a commercial product (it was reserved for government use only) say the car has a 7,000-pound (3,175 kg) weight, an “intelligent” 4-wheel-drive system, an adjustable hydro-pneumatic suspension and is powered by an all-aluminum 6.0 litre V-12 engine that delivers 400 hp and 405 lb/ft (550 Nm).
