This week Chrysler has begun production of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee at its plant in Toledo, Ohio.
Jeep boss Mike Manley said that the all-new 2014 Cherokee will reach dealers in the US in August. The model, which shares many of its components with Chrysler’s Dodge Dart sedan, will reach higher volumes in September.
According to the car manufacturer, the 2014 Jeep Cherokee will be available to its future customers from 22,995 USD, without the 995 USD destination charge. The model is powered by a 2.4 liter Tigershark four-cylinder engine, which is producing a total output of 184 HP (137 kW) and it has a peak torque of 171 lb-ft (231 Nm). According to the automaker, the left-hand drive models will take priority of the right-hand ones.
At the end of May, Jeep launched in Italy the 2014 Grand Cherokee, at a base price of 58,000 euro. The 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee is coming with the 3.0 liter V6 turbo diesel, with the 3.6 liter Pentastar V6 petrol, the 5.7 liter V8 petrol, which is only available on the Summit version, and the 6.4 liter V8 HEMI, available on the SRT only.
