Chrysler launched www.ChryslerCareers.com, a redesigned careers web site that accepts applications for both salaried and hourly salaried jobs.
The company upgraded the site as it prepares to hire around 2,350 new manufacturing workers in 2013 in Detroit and Toledo. Unlike its Detroit competitors, Chrysler hires only from online applications and to avoid over supply of applications, the company’s hourly jobs are posted for a short time. What is new about the site is the fact that applicants can register their interest for a certain job, even if it is not posted.
“We believe the diversity of information and the accessibility of the site will provide an enhanced environment to educate job applicants on the wealth of opportunities available at our Company and what it means to be part of the Chrysler Group family,” said Nancy A. Rae, Senior Vice President – Human Resources, Chrysler Group LLC.
Although a job is removed from the site after a certain number of applications is reached, the candidates which registered their interest for that job receives an e-mail or text when the application process first opens. The applicants are screened in the order in which they applied.
