Chrysler announced that the company has added an entry-level Ram 1500 light-duty pickup to its lineup.
The new Dodge Ram 1500, code-named “Adventurer,” will focus on the sport truck enthusiast market, offering something for young or first-time car shoppers, according to PickupTrucks.com.
However, despite the price ($23,830), it is well equipped: the truck gets body-colored grilles and bumpers, fog lights, and 20-inch wheels. There’s a lengthy list of options, including chrome, a spray-in-bedliner and a Class IV trailer hitch.
“We know we have the formula right,” said Ram Truck President and CEO Fred Diaz. “Now we just need a great name that promotes pride of ownership. This new Ram model will be an attractive alternative for a younger or first-time buyer looking for performance at an affordable price.”
Chrysler initially planned to introduce this latest Ram 1500 Adventurer at a later date, but said the response to the Tradesman, in the six days since it was unveiled in Chicago, accelerated launch plans.
The Adventurer will go on sale in the second quarter of 2011.
