A Mehari inspired version of the C4 Cactus will be officially presented to the public by Citroen at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, next month.
Citroen CEO Linda Jackson has been giving the first details on a possible Mehari revival a few months back and now, with the 2015th edition of the Frankfurt Motor Show coming in pretty fast, the company has officially announced its plans to introduce such a model. The concept of the Cactus inspired by the lightweight utility vehicle, with a plastic body, will be making its public debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, “revisiting the spirit of the legendary Mehari”, as the carmaker is saying.
The modern Mehari version hasn’t been detailed at this point but rumor has it that it will be adopting a canvas roof just like the original version, which also used to come with an optional waterproof plastic hard top. Besides the Cactus Mehari, the French based automaker will also bring the Aircross Concept at the same automotive event, which will be making its public debut after being presented a few months back at the Auto Shanghai. Other vehicles which will be joining the Citroen stand at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show include the C1, the C4, the Berlingo Multispace and the C5 in two body styles, sedan and wagon. Additional details on the entire vehicle lineup will be announced during the automotive event, in mid-September.
