The French based automaker Citroen has recently unveiled its newest creation, the so-called DS 5LS R Sport Sedan Concept, which will be officially presented to the public during the 2014 Beijing Auto Show.
Citroen has moved the DS name as a standalone luxury brand which is targeting the Chinese market and the first product to be launched under the DS brand was the compact sedan 5LS, which has went on sale in the Asian country last year. A new concept car, called the 5LS R, is hinting at a performance version of the model, and this has been officially unveiled and announced for the 2014 Beijing Auto Show.
The model in question has been developed with knowledge gained from the WRC wins and it has a 15 mm lowered chassis, upgraded brakes, upgraded suspension system a wider front track and some carbon fiber components which are helping to lower the weight. The new Citroen DS 5LS R Sport Sedan Concept is taking its power from a 1.6 liter four-cylinder engine, similar to the one used by the company in its newest WRC. The unit is rated at 300 HP and 295 lb-ft of torque and it’s mated to a sequential transmission with paddle shifters.
