The French based automaker Citroen has unveiled the brand new DS Wild Rubis Concept during the 2013 Shanghai Motor Show, in a world premiere.
The newest creation signed by Citroen is named the DS Wild Rubis Concept and the model will become the first DS crossover to hit the production line. The vehicle is 4.70 meters long, 1.95 meters wide and 1.59 meters tall, riding on a 2.9 meters wheelbase. The Citroen DS Wild Rubis Concept will rival the BMW X3 and the Audi Q5, and the concept version is actually longer, wider and lower than the Q5.
Power to the Citroen DS Wild Rubis Concept is provided by a 1.6 liter THP gasoline engine, which is producing 225 HP (165 kW), helped by an electric motor fitted onto the rear axle, generating an extra 70 HP (51 kW). There is also a lithium-ion battery pack which can be charged from a regular socket, making the model a plug-in hybrid. The vehicle can run in electric mode for up to 50 km (31 miles) and in hybrid mode it’s emitting just 43 g/km of CO2.
