Citroen has just released the first official images and details with the facelifted versions of the DS3 and DS3 Cabrio, following a series of leaked images and a teaser published not too long ago.
The 2015 Citroen DS3 and the DS3 Cabrio facelift have received a new set of headlights. These are combining xenon and LED modules with sequential indicators which are influenced by the Wild Rubis and Numero 9 concept cars. The company says that the headlamps are 35 percent more energy efficient in dipped mode and 75 percent in high-beam mode compared to the halogen headlights. They will also last 20 times more, having a lifetime of 20,000 hours.
“Already strong on visual appeal, DS 3 and DS 3 Cabrio’s new headlights are now more striking than ever. The LED modules have been arranged to provide a distinctive signature and the sequential indicators – a class exclusive – add further appeal”, as the company is saying in its official press release.
The facelifted Citroen DS3 and DS3 Cabrio range is gaining Euro 6 compliant engines, such as the Blue HDi 100 and the Blue HDi 120. The first unit is burning just 3L / 100km of fuel (94 mpg UK / 78.2 mpg US), emitting 79 g/km of CO2, white the other one is returning 3.6L / 100km (78 mpg UK 65 mpg US) and it’s emitting 94 g/km of CO2. The PureTech e-VTi 82 ETG will be offered too, with its 4.1L / 100km in fuel consumption (69 mpg UK / 57.4 mpg US) and 95 g/km of CO2. This unit has an automated five-speed ETC (Efficient Tronic Gearbox). No pricing details have been announced yet.
