The French based automaker Citroen is planning to put the DS3 Racing Cabrio into a limited production series over the following months.
The announcement has been made by a company’s representative, who has spoken to Autocar, but no official details on the subject have been announced yet. According to our source, the carmaker will have to figure out how many units it should produce before deciding whether or not this is profitable. The model in question will basically be a convertible version of the DS3 Coupe which will be based on the concept car wearing the same name.
The new Citroen DS3 Racing Cabrio is expected to get black chrome inserts on the door handles, door mirrors and boot trim, Carmin colored brake calipers, black canvas roof and door mirror housings, bucket seats wrapped in Nappa, Alcantara and leather, a Carmin finish for the seat housings, dashboard and gearshift and much more. The final production version of the Citroen DS3 Racing Cabrio will get its power from the 1.6 liter THP engine, producing a total output of 202 HP (150 kW). The model should be priced at 30,000 GBP. Additional details on the model are limited for the moment and will probably be announced in September, during the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.
