The Citroen DS5 has been recently launched in Australia where the model has been priced at 47, 990 AUD for the base entry-level version.
The car manufacturer says that for AUD47,990, future Australian customers of the Citroen DS5 will get the 1.6 liter THP engine, which is producing a total output of 155 horsepower (115 kW) and it has a peak torque of 240 Nm. The Citroen DS5 in this configuration can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.7 seconds. For an extra AUD1,000 you can add a pearlescent white paint, for AUD1,000 more a 10-speaker sound system becomes available and for AUD2,500 you can get the alezan watchstrap leather upholstery.
According to the French based automaker, the Citroen DS5 is not produced on the same platform used by the C5 and the company has opted for the PF2 used by models like the Peugeot 3008, which also offers the possibility of installing all-wheel drive. On other markets, Citroen is offering four engines for the DS5, the THP with 200 HP, the e-HDi with 110 HP, the HDi with 160 HP and the new diesel electric Hybrid4, which is offering 200 HP and AWD. Citroen didn’t say if any of these versions will be launched in Australia.
