Citroen has recently pulled the wraps off its latest creation, the DS Wild Rubis Concept, ahead of the model’s public debut during the 2013 Shanghai Motor Show, next week.
Starting its life with a simple teaser image, the Citroen DS Wild Rubis Concept has quickly caught everyone’s attention because this is a premium SUV which will rival models like the BMW X3 or the Audi Q5. The Citroen DS Wild Rubis Concept is 4.7 meters long, 1.95 meters wide and 1.59 meters tall, being actually longer, wider and lower than the Q5. The concept version is sitting on large 21-inch wheels.
Citroen is actually picking up where the Numero 9 Concept left off with the DS Wild Rubis Concept, and we can see the model’s design cues and appealing lines, which are expected to be adopted by the final production version. At the front we can see the chrome grille with the DS badge and the full LED headlights, along with a similar design in the rear, with the slim taillights, twin tailpipes and some other tweaks.
Citroen didn’t release any images with the interior design of the DS Wild Rubis Concept just yet, but thanks to its generous size the model will most likely have plenty of room in the cabin. The Citroen DS Wild Rubis Concept is made using an older chassis from the C5, rather than the new EMP2 platform. The Citroen DS Wild Rubis Concept will be officially presented to the public in Shanghai, on the 20th of April.
