We all saw the new and revamped season of the Top Gear show was a frightful disaster, so the stakes and expectations are high for the former team, helming the Grand Tour on Amazon Prime.
So, in the mean time Jeremy Clarkson, James May, and Richard Hammond are going about their business. For example, the show that debuts this fall will keep the old system – the three hosts and a wide range of high-end automobiles, but also season it with new elements. For example, the studio pieces will be done in a different city around the world for each episode. In a bid to further promote the series – though we think they don’t need the hype because it’s already there – Amazon already announced a studio segment and competition for the South African episode. The Grand Tour is also hitting the road to film the episodes in places such as Germany, the United States, and the United Kingdom.
And fans can enter contests with the winners packing their bags for an all-expenses paid trip to be in the audience for the show and also have some one-on-one time with the three hosts. For example, the US part will see entries until 11:59:59 p.m. (PT) on July 12th – the winner is getting round trip economy class airfare for both him and a guest to a studio recording in California. While little is known about the actual proceeds during the show – the teasers so far showed models such as the Alfa 4C, Aston DB 11, Challenger Hellcat, as well as Rolls-Royce Dawn, among others.
