There’s an influx of great and even spectacular Porsche models heading to auction – and you can find anything in there, from a 356 Speedster with Nicholas Cage ownership to a 911 Turbo Slantnose.
The forthcoming springtime sale in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, will see a huge and possibly “priceless” collection of classic Porsche models will be up for grabs, a great way for Auctions America to celebrate its 15th birthday. No less than 26 vehicles spanning 48 years of production are on display – and all of them come with no reserve. JLB Autocrib, one of America’s most well known German car collections, will be the supplier for these fine examples. One of the stars of the collection is a 356 1600 Speedster that once belonged to actor Nicholas Cage. A 1958 Porsche RSR Tribute, used by Bruce Willis in the movie Death Becomes Her, is also crossing the auction block.
But there are also more models worthy of attention: a 1988 911 Turbo Slantnose, a reworked 1960 356B 1600 Coupe, a 1965 356C 1600 SC Cabriolet, a 2003 911 Turbo Coupe, and a 1968 912 ‘Soft Window’ Targa, among others. The early estimates put the 356 1600 Speedster owned by Nicholas Cage for up to $325,000, taking the high point – while others, such as the ’88 Slantnose could go for up to $180,000. The auction also includes Porsche memorabilia – from official dealership signs to racing suits and helmets.
