Clio Williams revived, Renault signed with the F1 Team image

The French car manufacturer company Renault announced the supplying of engines to the Formula One team Williams, which can only mean one thing, the revival of Clio Williams. One of the best hot hatches in history, Clio Williams, is soon going to be more than a legend, its reviving being planned by officials within Renault.

The hot hatch with blue and gold livery is announced to be more fun than the standard car. “We don’t want
to pollute the Renault and Williams tie-up with simply a marketing exercise, you can rest assured it will be something suitably uprated from the standard car”, said a Renault Group spokesman.

According to officials in the French car manufacturer, the new “pocket rocket” will benefit from the 2.0 litre naturally aspirated engine, which will get a boost from 197 BHP to around 240 BHP, a marketing move so that the little hatch doesn’t step into its big brother’s shoes, the Renault Sport Megane, with 247 BHP.

Future customers of the Clio Williams will be able to choose from all the “modern gadgets”, like climate control, TomTom sat-nav and many more. The interior seats will be, of course, Recaro, with the Williams logo, and the hot hatch will get bigger brakes and Bridgestone Potentza tyres, the same as the new Megane 265 Trophy.

The new Renault Clio Williams is expected to make its presence felt sometime next year, at a starting price
of around 25.000 pounds.
