Commercial Vehicle Registrations in Europe Down 13.3% in February image

In February, demand for new commercial vehicle dropped for the 14th consecutive month in Europe.

France saw a decrease in new commercial vehicle demand of 12.3%, Germany dropped 14.4%, Spain was down 19.5 and Italy fell 31.3%. The one market to post growth was the UK with 4.2%. in February a total of 109,331 new vehicles have been registered.

Last month new van registration dropped 13.3% to 89,964 units, with France down 12.0%, Germany down 16.4%, Spain down 18.3%, Italy down 31.9% and the UK up 11.8%. For January and February the EU sold 193,985 vans, a drop of 11.4%, with France falling 10.7%, Germany 15.1%, Spain 18.3%, Italy 28.7%, while the UK was up 11.9%.

The heavy truck segment dropped 12.4% to 13,320 units last month, with Germany down 8.9%, the UK 11.0%, France 18.4%, Italy 23.8% and Spain 25.3%. For January and February heavy truck registrations dropped 16.0% in Germany, 16.2% in Italy, 16.8% in France, 17.5% in the UK and 17.5% in Spain. The EU sold 28,851 heavy trucks, down 15.7%.

The EU sold 17,620 trucks last month, down 13.3%, with Germany down 9.8%, the UK 15.6%, France 17.7%, Italy 26.1% and Spain 27.0%. In January and February, 37,950 trucks were registered in the EU, down 15.4%, with Germany down 15.0%, France 16.3%, the UK 18.9%, Italy 19.9% and Spain 17.7%.
