Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este LIVE: BMW Vision Future Luxury concept image

As we know, for many years, maybe the world’s best known elegance competition is organized by the BMW Group together with the Grand Hotel Villa d’Este, so there’s no surprise the latest incredible concept from the Germans makes an appearance here.

The Vision Future Luxury concept has been publicly unveiled in April in China, panning underneath the beautiful sedan body the very best the Bavarian house has to offer in terms of styling, luxury, elegance and high technology.

While the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este is traditionally a venue for classic and vintage cars – with an incredible history starting with the first edition that took place in 1929 – we really think the BMW concept has a place among the various old and beautiful cars.

“We use visionary concept vehicles like the BMW Vision Future Luxury to show where we may be going with these themes in the future, and to give us new inspiration and motivation. The BMW Vision Future Luxury – with its innovative technologies and with meticulous precision and quality in every detail – takes our thinking on modern luxury a logical stage further,” says Adrian van Hooydonk, BMW’s Senior Vice President of Design.

With a name that says it all, the Vision Future Luxury is BMW’s business card for the next decade or so, and whether or not the rumors about the Germans developing a new 9 Series flagship really pan out, the concept should definitely influence the next generations of upper class cars, from the 5 and 6 to the 7 Series models.

The car features extensive use of the latest material embraced by the company – the very light and durable carbon fiber and composite materials that include it – stemming from the huge investment made in the research, development and production of the material for the “i” sub brand. Also, the interior boasts all advancements made in cockpit technology so far, from connected devices to safety and infotainment equipment designed to make life easier.
