A new SUV will be soon put into development by Audi and this will be known as the Q8.
Rumors on Audi planning a larger version of the Q7 have been around for about 1-2 years now and it seems that with each passing month, the model is getting closer and closer to a development start. Speaking with the company’s chief, Ulrich Hackenberg, during the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show, the guys from Autocar have found out that the new Audi Q8 has been green-lighted for production.
“The Q8 will come. It will be something new, following designs established on the Prologue concept. It will be positioned as something more emotional and more sporty than the Q7. The Q7 will be a car for seven people, the Q8 will be more coupe like”, said the carmaker’s official.
The brand new Audi Q8 is expected to be launched over the next three years, along with other smaller versions which will include the Q1, Q2, Q4 and, of course, the Q6, the future rival for the X6. The model will be similar to the Audi Q8, underneath its skin, except for the large body. The same engine lineup is expected to be used on it too. More details on the SUV are limited at this time.
