Lamborghini will be pulling the wraps off the new Huracan Spyder at the upcoming 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, next month.
The Sant’Agata Bolognese based car manufacturer has fallen behind its main competitors as Ferrari has already unveiled the 488 Spider and McLaren is offering a 650S Spider since earlier this year so the need for a Huracan Spyder was quite high and it will be satisfied next month, during the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, as the company is stating. The announcement hasn’t been made official at this point but according to Autovisie, who are quoting official company sources, the drop-top exotic model will be shown at the German automotive event.
Imagining how the car will eventually look like is extremely easy because all you have to do is take a regular version of the already available Huracan and chop its roof off. We expect a solid automatic folding roof and probably some weight added to its body in order to cope with the dropped roof. Under its hood, the same 5.2 liter V10 naturally aspirated engine will be found, capable of putting down a total output of 602 HP (448 kW) and a peak torque of 560 Nm (413 lb-ft), sent to the all-wheel drive system through a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) should take approximately 3.3 seconds and top speed will most likely stand the same as in the coupe, 325 km/h (202 mph). The Huracan has been shown back in 2014 and it is coming as a replacement for the Gallardo.
