Corvette Stingray might be sold in China image

Chevrolet might introduce the brand new 2014 Corvette Stingray in China in the first half of 2014, where the model will have a base price of 245,000 USD.

The announcement hasn’t been made official just yet by Chevy or General Motors but according to the Chinese automotive media, the brand new 2014 Corvette Stingray is expected to make its way onto the Asian market. The model in question is believed to arrive in dealerships in the first half of 2014, after making its local debut during the 2013 Guangzhou Auto Show, in November. While in the United States the new Corvette costs 51,995 USD, for the cheapest version, in China this will set you back for 245,000 USD (1.5 million yuan).

The new generation of the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is wearing the 2014 model year in its name and the model has been introduced a few months ago. The popular sports car is powered by a 6.2 liter LT1 V8 engine, which is available in both markets, the United States and Europe, and now in a third market too, China. The total output produced stands at 460 HP (343 kW), at 6,000 rpm, with a peak torque of 630 Nm (465 lb-ft), available at 4,600 rpm. Power is sent to the rear-wheel drive through a seven-speed manual transmission with active rev matching.
