The Romanian based automaker Dacia is planning to launch a new model, which will be named the Citadine, and will be priced from 5,000 euros (6,640 USD).
After the Dacia Lodgy has been placed into the spotlights by the company at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, where the vehicle has been officially presented to the public in a world premiere, another Dacia model is getting ready to enjoy the same “treatment”. According to the guys at autobild.de, the all-new Dacia Citadine is expected to come with a starting price of 5,000 euros and the model will have a lot in common with the current Renault Twingo because it will come in the same five-door hatchback body style and size.
Even if the Dacia Citadine will be similar to the Renault Twingo, the Romanian model will be developed on a new platform, which will also be used for a variety of upcoming models, and while Renault will move up market to compete with Volkswagen, the Dacia brand will take Renault’s place. The future Dacia Citadine is rumored to be powered by a new 0.9 liter three-cylinder engine, which will come in outputs of 59 HP, 74 HP and 94 HP. More details about the Citadine will be announced later on.
