Dacia will be presenting, during the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, its first ever automatic transmission, along with a special edition of the Duster.
Called the Easy-R, the automated manual gearbox is a huge step forward for the Romanian based automaker which will be managing to attract more customers into its vehicle range thanks to this addition. The transmission will be offered on the Logan, on the Logan MCV, the Sandero and the Sandero Stepway before the end of the year and it will be connecting the TCe 90 petrol burner.
In this version, the TCe 90, with its 90 HP (66 kW) and 140 Nm (103 lb-ft) of torque, will be sending power to the front wheels, providing an average fuel consumption of 4.9 liters / 100 km. Dacia says that the automated transmission is working together with a computer controlled electromechanical actuators which are performing a surrogate role for the driver, declutching, changing gear and re-engaging the clutch. The carmaker is also says that it has two driving modes, Drive and Manual.
Besides the introduction of its first ever automatic transmission, Dacia has also announced that all its engines are now meeting the Euro 6 emission standards and will be getting a start / stop system and braking energy recovery. Dacia will also display, at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, the Duster Edition 2016, getting the Altai Green finish for its exterior, 16-inch wheels, two trim options inside it and several other goodies.
