The Romanian based automaker Dacia has recently announced that the new Lodgy model will be officially launched locally in June.
Even if the model is wearing the Dacia badge on it, the manufacturer and its mother brand Renault have decided to launch it in Romania in June, 2012, two months after the vehicle will make its official debut in Europe. The Dacia Lodgy is still kept in the shadows and besides a few official images with the new model we don’t exactly know anything about it and it seems that we won’t find out more until the vehicle will be officially presented to the public at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show.
According to the Romanian car manufacturer, the Dacia Lodgy will come in two versions, with five and seven seats, and even if the Logan MCV is also available with an extra row of seats, the Lodgy is 30 mm than its brother, offering also more space in the back. The Dacia Lodgy has a total length of 4.5 meters and it will be targeted on customers with large families and the model won’t go against the Scenic because they have different targets.
The Dacia Lodgy will come with Euro 5 engines but there’s no official word on the lineup yet and rumors are saying that actually the same engines found on the Duster SUV might be “borrowed”. We don’t have any more details on the Romanian vehicle and we probably won’t have more until the model will be officially presented at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show in March.
