Renault’s low cost brand, Dacia plans to build a new low cost citycar that is expected to start at 6, 000 Euro – the cheapest ever model from the Romanian automaker.
At this moment the cheapest Dacia model is the Sandero – that stats at about 7, 200 euro in the UK (£5,995) – but Autoexpress reports the upcoming vehicle will be at least 1,000 Euros cheaper.
According to the same source, the citycar is expected to use the existing platform of Renault’s Twingo – and considering that this trick already was used by the Sandero (Sandero rides on the old MKIII Clio platform) it may be a success.
The automaker plans to build the car in Togliatti, Russia.
Dacial plans to launch the car somewhere at the end of 2015. The basic model will get unpainted bumpers, steel wheels, manual windows – and no radio. Buyers will have to shell out extra moneys for radio, central locking or alloy wheels.

In 2013, Dacia grew market share faster than any other vehicle manufacturer. Rising one place in the rankings, it is 16th in Europe and 5th in France.
Renault’s entry-level vehicle sales accounted for 41 percent of group deliveries last year.
