Daihatsu has recently pulled the wraps off its latest creation, the D-R Concept, during the 2012 Indonesian Motor Show.
After revealing the UFC Concept not too long ago, Daihatsu has unveiled the D-R Concept at the same Indonesian Motor Show, which is considered to be the spiritual successor of the Copen convertible. The Daihatsu D-R Concept is coming with an oversized front fascia, a windshield frame made out of aluminum and the interior design of the model has been wrapped in leather.
“P.T. Astra Daihatsu Motor (ADM), a subsidiary of DAIHATSU MOTOR CO., LTD. (Daihatsu) in Indonesia, plans to exhibit four concept cars, including the UFC, which will be shown for the first time anywhere in the world, and AYLA, which is set to reach the market, along with a range of new technologies at the 20th Indonesia International Motor Show to be held from Thursday September 20 to Sunday September 30, 2012 in Jakarta, Indonesia”, as the carmaker is saying in its official press release.
Daihatsu says that the D-R Concept is coming with replaceable resin body panels, along with an LCD screen in the cabin, a touch screen which is in charge of most of the controls and the model is powered by a two-cylinder 600cc engine. The Japanese based automaker didn’t say anything about a possible production version of the D-R concept.
