After the competition at Honda or Mitsubishi has already announced its lineup for the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show, the Japanese automaker Daihatsu has decided talk about its intentions to attend the most important Asian automotive event of the year with four new concepts.

According to the Japanese based automaker, Daihatsu will present four new concepts at this year’s Tokyo Motor Show, in the form of the D-X, the PICO, the FC ShoCase and the Mira e:S, which will share the same space with eight production vehicles and some new technologies.

“DAIHATSU MOTOR CO., LTD. plans to exhibit four concept cars and eight production vehicles along with various technologies at the 42nd Tokyo Motor Show which will be open to the general public from Saturday, December 3, to Saturday, December 11, 2011, at the Tokyo Big Sight venue in Tokyo”, as Daihatsu says in its official press release.

The D-X concept looks like the modern Smart Roadster, coming with a resin body and a two-cylinder turbocharged engine, combining the pleasure of driving with low fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. The PICO is a two-seat electric vehicle which is targeted at older drivers, while the FC ShoCase is a boxy van powered by the next-generation of the fuel cell system and the Mira e:S apparently comes with an exclusive blue sky paint job.

More details on the four concept cars and on the production vehicles too will be announced when the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show will officially open its gates.
