Daihatsu has recently pulled the wraps off its latest creation, the UFC Concept, during the 2012 Indonesian Motor Show.
UFC may stand for the Ultimate Fighting Championship but not in this case and cage fighting has nothing in common with this vehicle. According to the car manufacturer, the UFC in its name is referring to Ultra Functional Compact and the model in question, known as the Daihatsu UFC Concept, has been officially presented to the public, for the first time, during this year’s Indonesian Motor Show. Daihatsu says that the UFC Concept can accommodate up to six people on three rows of seats, which can be arranged in am multitude of ways.
Daihatsu has been inspired by Ford’s B-MAX because the UFC Concept doesn’t have any B-pillars, which have been incorporated into the rear doors for an easier passenger access to the rear seats. The Daihatsu UFC Concept is coming with short front and rear overhangs, a long wheelbase, which is providing generous space in the cabin and rumors are saying that the model’s styling cues will be adopted by the upcoming Xenia or Avanza. A production version of the UFC Concept is expected to hit the market with seven seats.
