Garmin is the global leader in satellite navigation and its award-winning navigation system will be integrated into the future Mercedes-Benz vehicles in the following four years.
“Being selected by Daimler as their global tier-one navigation solution partner is a testament to Garmin’s growing capability and exceptional product quality in the auto OEM space,” said Matt Munn, Garmin managing director automotive OEM. “We are honored by Daimler’s confidence in Garmin and we look forward to working with them to deliver an exceptional navigation experience for the world’s most discerning drivers.”
Garmin’s user-friendly navigation system will be fully integrated into the Mercedes-Benz infotainment systems to offer customers an intuitive and efficient experience. The in-dash display will not only offer maps and navigation information, but also other important data such as next turn, which will be visible at a glance on the second display, placed behind the wheel.
Drivers also have the possibility to control the navigation functions using the system’s rotary controller or the voice command functionality. Garmin’s navigation software will also offer important positioning information for ADAS functionalities of the car to help drivers in challenging situations.
