Daimler started production of the new Mercedes S-Class and sales are to begin this fall.
With the new 2014 S Class, Mercedes-Benz has continued its tradition of fitting its vehicles with the latest technologies in the automotive sector, such as autonomous driving ability and the advanced safety technologies. The new S-Class will be the first production vehicle fitted with self-driving ability.
The new generation of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class was officially presented to the public on 15th of May, 2013, in Hamburg, at the Airbus A380 delivery center. The 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class will come with a 3.0 liter V6 engine in the S350 BlueTEC, which is good for 258 HP (190 kW) and 620 Nm of torque (457 lb-ft), with a 4.7 liter V8 petrol with 455 HP (355 kW) and 700 Nm of torque (516 lb-ft) in the S500 and with a 3.5 liter V6 with 306 HP (225 kW) and 370 Nm of torque (273 lb-ft), in the S400 Hybrid.
