A replica of the famous Pontiac Trans Am named KITT, owned by David Hasselhoff, is currently being offered for sale, for a starting bid of 15,000 USD.
The classic television show Knight Rider gave birth to one of the most famous cars, KITT (Knight Industries Two Thousand), which has been fashioned out of a 1982 Pontiac Trans Am. The vehicle pictured below has been created and gifted to Hasselhoff by fans and this is not the standard 1986 Firebird, as it has been fitted with KITT’s exterior lighting, scissor doors, elaborate digital dashboard and console, w-style yoke steering wheel and it’s programmed to speak over 4,000 sound bites from the Knight Rider show.
The car in question has been made by Jennifer Catano and it has a 5.0 liter V8 engine, connected to an automatic transmission, which is sending power to the rear-wheel drive. The vehicle is currently owned by David Hasselhoff and it’s looking for a new owner. The starting bid was 15,000 USD and, 3 bids later, it ended up at 19,000 USD. The estimated selling price stands at between 30,000 USD and 50,000 USD. The winning bidder will be responsible for all shipping and moving costs. The KITT replica will be on display in Ireland, at the Museum of Style Icons, until the 27th of April, this year.
It can only get bigger and better. The 85th International Motor Show in Geneva will finally make its “carsy” debut on the 3rd of March. The show will focus on a future-oriented theme, and we can only wait and see what futuristic cars it brings to the showroom.
