DBS Coupe and DB9 Spyder Zagato Centennial announced by Aston Martin image

The British based automaker Aston Martin and Zagato have recently announced their plans to created two new models in order to celebrate the company’s 100th anniversary.

According to the car manufacturer, the first one will be the DBS Coupe Zagato Centennial. The model in question ahs a stylish front fascia with retro headlamps and a prominent grille. The DBS Coupe Zagato Centennial is also getting a distinctive rear end and a double bubble roof, amongst others.

“Redesigning the DBS was a difficult job. The DBS is already one of the most beautiful modern sports cars around. Our challenge was to bring sporty styling together with a more Mediterranean luxury GT feel, all with typical Zagato quality”, said Norihiko Harada, the Zagato chief designer.

Aston Martin says that the DB9 Spyder Zagato Centennial has been produced for an American car collector, who has already purchased the DB7 Zagato. The model is coming with a conventional canvas roof and it has the same styling as the above mentioned coupe.

“The DB9 Spyder Zagato Centennial perfectly merges Aston Martin and Zagato’s DNA by combining the elegance of design, typical of Zagato, with the soul, power and prestige of Aston Martin, all developed over the last 100 years. This car personifies the timelessness of the Aston Martin/Zagato marque”, said Peter Read, the buyer of the model.
