Detroit Electric has released new details on its upcoming model, the SP:01, which is still heading to production but with small steps.
In case you have forgotten all about the Detroit Electric SP:01, don’t worry, because the company is here to remind you that the model in question is still heading to production, on small steps, however. According to a recent press release, the brand new model will become available in a variety of colors, which will include the Special Red, the Special White, the Performance Orange, Performance Silver, Performance Green, Performance Black and Performance Blue, but on request, customers will also be able to order a bespoke paint scheme.
The interior design of the brand new vehicle made by Detroit Electric is looking similar to the one of the Lotus, and this is no surprise. However, we can also get to see the 8.4-inch Android tablet, which is acting as the infotainment system, the embroidered floor mats, the power windows and power door locks or the Alcantara or leather sports seats. Power to the Detroit Electric SP:01 will be provided by an electric motor which will produce a total of 285 HP (210 kW), being connected to a manual transmission, to a single speed automatic or a twin speed automatic. From 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h), the vehicle will need 3.7 seconds and from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph), the time will stand at 3.9s. Top speed will be 250 km/h (155 mph).
