The 2014 Cadillac ELR has been officially presented to the public, in a world premiere, during the 2013 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit.
After starting its life as a simple rumor not too long ago and with the model being teased a couple of days ahead of its debut, the 2014 Cadillac ELR is being placed into the spotlights once again, this time with the North American based automaker taking the wraps off its body during the 2013 Detroit Motor Show. Cadillac says that the 2014 Cadillac ELR is coming with a 2+2 layout, with a luxurious cabin with leather upholstery, chrome accents, wood accents, 8-inch configurable instrument and driver info display and more.
Power to the 2014 Cadillac ELR is being provided by the an electric motor, by a 1.4 liter gasoline unit acting as a range extender and by the 16.5 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, weighing 198 kg (435 lbs). The total output provided by the hybrid powertrain stands at 207 HP (154 kW) and 400 Nm of torque (295 lb-ft). The 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) acceleration figure hasn’t been announced yet but we know top speed stands at 161 km/h (100 mph).
