Toyota’s luxury brand has brought the new generation of the IS to the 2014 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit.
After teasing the 2014 Lexus IS one last time a few days ago and then pulling the wraps off its body right ahead of its debut, the new generation of the popular vehicle is being placed into the spotlights once again, this time with the Japanese based automaker officially presenting it to the public for the first time during the 2013 Detroit Motor Show. The 2014 Lexus IS is Toyota’s answer to a segment dominated by Germans and their BMW 3-Series, Audi A4 or Mercedes-Benz C-Class.
The 2014 Lexus IS has been inspired by the LF-CC Concept car, unveiled during the Paris Motor Show in September 2012. The model is coming with L-shape LEDs in the aggressively designed headlights, with a trapezoidal grille and with other tweaks. The two models brought to the automotive event are equipped with the F-Sport package and so the level of “aggressiveness” is higher. The cabin of the 2014 Lexus IS is offering more space thanks to the thinner front seats and to the longer wheelbase. The dashboard is getting a multimedia system, an analog clock and the climate controls and the steering wheel has been inspired from the LFA. In Europe the new Lexus IS will only come as the IS250 and IS350h.
