Digital artist interpretation brings to life the Honda / Acura NSX roadster image

The Japanese automaker has gifted its fans with a new generation of the celebrated NSX sports car and as such the attention of digital artists is a natural occurrence.

The design exercise today proposes the open top version of the NSX, with the Roadster being a very stylish transformation that still keeps many of the coupe’s elements untouched. While there are numerous styling links, the NSX Roadster in the digital artists’ view should also come with different side scoops and a new design for the entire back, which has made room for a power retractable soft top. All elements here are “functional” and we can see the renders also have the much needed, safety-related rollover hoops tucked behind the seats.

If the roadster gets the green light from the Japanese automaker, which sells the NSX as a Honda in Europe and as an Acura in the US, the open top version should assume the coupe’s powertrain which is hybrid and makes use of a biturbo 3.5-liter V6 engine and three electric motors. That’s enough oomph to reach a combined output of 573 horsepower and 476 pound-feet. Using its all-wheel drive layout the NSX is a capable supercar and it will power to 60 mph (96 km/h) in just three seconds as it thunders to a maximum speed of 191 mph. The regular 2017 Acura NSX is slated to start being taken out the factory gates in April and prospective owners will have to shell out in America at least $156,000.

Thank you for the wonderful review folks! The Acura’s convertible version that took shape in the imagination of digital artists is absolutely stunning! Look at that gnarly looking head lights and smooth flowing frontal design! All in all a snazzy machine to look at! Its monstrous horsepower and enormous torque are what I can’t wait to test out! But, hopefully it can handle the turbulence well at high speeds without any wind deflector like windblox or something installed!
