The German automaker from Ingolstadt has already revealed the new Audi A5 Sportback, and the model is expected to officially premiere in front of the worldwide audience during the Paris Motor Show.
The Internet has a habit of delivering speculative renderings of the model’s other derivatives – in this case the sporty S5 and high performance RS5 – but this time around we’re dealing with an unlikely derivative – the family oriented A5 Avant. The digital artist decided to imagine a possible wagon version of the new Audi – dubbed the A5 Avant concept, which takes the new and carefully updated lines of the four door hatch and morphs them into a station wagon. There are also new high-spoke wheels and silver finish to add to the upscale feeling.
The A5 Avant is most likely destined to remain the dream of a digital artist, because such a body style would hardly have a business case with the A4 Avant running around. The new Audi A5 Sportback is on its way to Paris by now and will be present there with its usual set of powertrains going from 190 horsepower (140 kilowatts) to 354 horsepower (260 kilowatts) – the model is expected quickly at the beginning of next year across Europe with a base price at home in Germany kicking off at €37,800 ($42,500).
