The AMG GT seems to have become one of the tuning favorites as of late, and we can list a long sheet of names that have had a go – the latest being America’s aftermarket specialist Dime Racing.
Because in such a crowded market you need to stand up to be a star, the American outfit has produced one of the most AMG GTs to have hit the streets – its 4.0-liter, twin-turbo V8 sitting under that long hood having been tuned to no less than 745 hp. Even the hardcore, factory-built AMG GT R is only capable of 577 horsepower. Dime is actually an AMG specialist and races a GT3-spec SLS in the Pirelli World Challenge, so we can be sure the Dime Racing Edition AMG GT does put to good use all of its 745 hp.
Unfortunately, they’re pretty mysterious about the engine, suspension and cooling upgrades – but we can see for ourselves what design modifications have been operated: new front and side splitters, massive rear diffuser as well as huge wing. The company only says the upgrades “create a unique track-capable experience that’s bred from Dime’s extensive experience in various racing series.” Only 100 examples will be produced each year, for $150,200, and even includes a free Växjö watch, which is a timepiece made by former F1 driver Stefan Johansson.
