Disco Volante Superleggera wins “Best Design” at Lake Como image

The Disco Volante Superleggera has recently won the “Best Design” award at the 2013 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, at Lake Como, in Italy.

After it was officially presented to the public, for the first time, during the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, in a world premiere, the Disco Volante Superleggera is being placed into the spotlights once again, this time with the help of a new award, won by the model. The “Best Design” award has been handed over during the 2013 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, at Lake Como, proving once again that Italians are doing the right thing when it comes to designing a car.

The Touring Superleggera Disco Volante is following the design study unveiled last year, and it’s based on the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione. The model in question is a two-seater Gran Turismo which is powered by a front central mounted 4.7 liter V8 engine. The Touring Superleggera Disco Volante will be launched in six months after the Alfa Romeo 8C will become available. Production of each unit will take 4,000 hours of manual work. Sales can be addressed at the Milan factory.
