Walt Disney and General Motors have collaborated on redesigning the Test Track Presented by Chevrolet at the Epcot’s Future World pavilion in Florida.

In December, Wall Disney World Resort will surprise its visitors with a highly interactive and redesigned test track, which GM designers and Walt Disney imagineers created.

The Test Track Presented by Chevrolet reopens December 6 in Disney’s Epcot’s Future World pavilion in Florida, after designers from both companies spent months working on making the attraction into a sort of professional design studio that will give riders a virtual experience in auto design.

“At Chevrolet, the diversity of talent on our team allows us to consistently produce sophisticated, refined and detailed design — but we don’t typically design through the eyes of a 12-year-old. Working with Walt Disney Imagineering, we were inspired to see our brand story from a more youthful perspective and really opened the parameters on how to approach this design challenge,” said Jeff Mylenek, GM design manager of global exhibit and merchandising design.

Riders on the new ride will create virtual custom-concept vehicles and test that vehicle through hills, hairpin turns and straight-aways on a track. Guests will be able to find out how well their vehicle fared and can share the experience through social media. It’s the fastest ride at Walt Disney World and hits speeds of 65 miles per hour.
